Ostara

Ostara is the Pagan Holiday celebrating the Spring Equinox. Here are some facts about Ostara:

·       Ostara is the Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring.

·       The word Ostara comes from the Anglo-Saxon Goddess name Eostre.

·       The word Easter comes from the German word Ostern.

·       Ostara celebrates renewal, fertility, and the balance of light and day.

·       You can honour the Spring Equinox by performing a small ritual, lighting candles and stating that you accept and rejoice the sunlight changes as well as stating that you honour the balance of night and day.

·       You can also honour the Spring Equinox by planting seeds, but do so with intention, place each seed carefully and think about all you hope for but also allow for the changes to happen as your plant grows.

Ostara and the Spring Equinox arrives on the 20th March.

Happy Ostara everyone,
